Long story short…the no drivers situation is not the case. In order to get sound out of my system, I checked the HCL on and found "C-Media USB Audio (no additional drivers required)". From what I've found, SoundBlaster X-Fi is not supported yet in OS X 10.4.X (maybe 10.5?). I don't think it detects any of my PCI devices, but this is another story…or maybe a partial solution. Feel free to ask for any other informations. I have SoundBlaster X-Fi card in my system, but the mac does not detect that. AFAIK, the USB devices doesn't have significant impact on the sound - directly, because with exact same connected devices in the same configuration, when I boot into my 'clean' windows install, the sound (and USB RTL-SDR) are working very well.
